Assessment of a possible sinkhole at the LoK

Schnack Geotechnik again examined geological data within a radius of ten kilometres around the planned LoK. Information from the State Geological Offices of Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony was used for this purpose and related to the planned subsoil. Existing historical sinkholes are all at least one and a half kilometres away from the future LoK and none of them are located in the Weser valley. In addition, there is an approximately 900 metre thick, non-soluble red sandstone layer beneath the subsoil. The experts therefore conclude once again that there is a minimum and negligible risk of future sinkholes in the area around the LoK.
