Bettina Hesse is a lawyer and took over as Chief Executive Officer of BGZ Gesellschaft für Zwischenlagerung mbH on June 1, 2023. At the beginning of her professional career, she worked for an international law firm. From 2003, she worked in various positions in the service sector, most recently on the board of an insurance company. Before joining BGZ, she was head of the Central Services Department at the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE).

Wilhelm Graf holds a degree in mechanical engineering and has around 25 years of experience in the field of nuclear waste disposal, five of which he spent as managing director of Acta Technologien GmbH. Among other positions, he was responsible for the management of the Ahaus and Gorleben interim storage facilities for ten years. Wilhelm Graf was a member of the committee “Waste conditioning, transports and interim storage” of the Nuclear Waste Management Commission (ESK) and was also active in international committees of the IAEA.

Lars Köbler holds a degree in economics and has worked in tax consulting and auditing for more than ten years. He has many years of experience in controlling, finance and accounting in the nuclear industry. From 2012 to 2018, Mr. Köbler was also managing director of the Ahaus Interim Storage Facility GmbH. Additionally from May 2021 till August 2023 he was managing director of Kerntechnische Hilfsdienst GmbH (KHG).
